De la Fuente: This is a fantastic team that never gives up
10:37 7 October, 2026Head coach of the Spanish national team Luis de la Fuente commented on the 2–1 victory over Croatia and the team's qualification for the Nations League knockout stage.
"This is a fantastic team that never gives up and surprises us in every match. We outperformed our opponents in the second half and managed to turn the game around. The opposition posed a threat only through counter-attacks, which is to be expected. It is a well-deserved victory.
Our goal is to keep winning. We are unbeaten in 42 consecutive matches and want to build on that success. I am very fortunate to work with such players," Marca quotes De la Fuente as saying.
After four Nations League matches, Spain leads Group 3 with 12 points. England has 9 points and sits in second place. Croatia holds third place with 3 points.
