Chess Olympiad: Armenia's women's team lost to the Chinese team

In the 9th round of the World Chess Olympiad held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, the Armenian women's team faced the tournament leader, China, which won the match with a score of 3–1.

Mariam Mkrtchyan and Susanna Gaboyan each scored half a point for the Armenian team, while Lilit Mkrtchyan and Elina Danielian suffered defeats.

China leads the standings with 17 points.

The Armenian team has 14 points.

In previous rounds, the Armenian female chess players defeated Hong Kong (3.5–0.5), Singapore (3–1), and Croatia (4–0); lost to Kazakhstan (1–3); and defeated Peru (3–1), Latvia (3–1), Azerbaijan (2.5–1.5), and the USA (2.5–1.5).

In previous rounds, the Chinese team defeated Zambia (4–0), Colombia (3.5–0.5), Turkey (3–1), Hungary (3.5–0.5), Bulgaria (3–1), and Poland (3.5–0.5); drew with Kazakhstan (2–2); and defeated Georgia (2.5–1.5).

Two rounds remain until the end of the Olympiad.
