Yeghishe Melikyan: Tomorrow you will see a team that is ready to win

"We want to win; we are ready, and we are capable of it—the team has that confidence. I would really love for the stadium to be packed tomorrow. The presence and support of the fans are crucial."

This is what Yeghishe Melikyan, head coach of the Armenian national football team, said during the pre-match press conference.

The Armenian national team will host Latvia on September 25 in the first round of the Nations League group stage.

"Our goal is to win. I don't want to talk about problems or difficulties. I want to talk about my team—our national squad—where there is a great atmosphere. I feel inspired when I see their mindset. Tomorrow, you will see a team that is ready to win.

It is certainly difficult, and there are challenges, but we have a good national team with talented players. I am proud to be working as the head coach of such a team.

My team and I are ready for tomorrow's match. We, too, want to see a packed stadium.

We need a victory. You will see that on the pitch. We’ll see how it goes—God willing. We are set on winning and are confident. Our goal is to win and move forward; we will be thinking about victory in every match.

I have a plan. It’s football—anything can happen. My team is in a fighting spirit. I am optimistic that we can win. If it doesn't work out—well, we are professionals; we won't lose heart, and we will move forward.

The time has come for us to win," said Yeghishe Melikyan.

The Armenia vs. Latvia match will kick off on September 25 at 20:00.
