Chess Olympiad: Opponents of the Armenian teams in round 5
10:18 20 September, 2026The matches of the 5th round of the World Chess Olympiad, taking place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, will be held on September 20.
The Armenian national team will face China. Both teams have secured four victories.
The Armenian team has defeated Barbados (4:0), Scotland (3.5:0.5), Sweden (2.5:1.5), and Argentina (2.5:1.5). China has defeated Uganda (4:0), Chile (3:1), Bulgaria (3.5:0.5), and Serbia (3:1).
In the 5th round, the Armenian women's national team will compete against Peru.
In previous rounds, the Armenian female chess players defeated Hong Kong (3.5:0.5), Singapore (3:1), and Croatia (4:0), and lost to Kazakhstan (1:3).
The Peruvian team defeated Ethiopia (4–0), South Africa (3–1), and North Macedonia (3.5–0.5), and lost to Mongolia (1.5–2.5).
Eleven rounds will be played at the Olympiad.
