Chess Olympiad: Fourth victory for the Armenian national team

The Armenian national chess team secured its fourth consecutive victory at the 46th World Olympiad currently taking place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

The Armenian team defeated Argentina with a score of 2.5–1.5.

Hayk Martirosyan, Robert Hovhannisyan, and Gabriel Sargissian each scored half a point, while Shant Sargsyan secured a victory.

China, Uzbekistan, Germany, India, the USA, the Netherlands, and Hungary also have four victories each.

After three victories, the Armenian women's team suffered its first loss, falling 1–3 to the team from Kazakhstan.

Mariam Mkrtchyan and Elina Danielian each scored half a point, while Lilit Mkrtchyan and Susanna Gaboyan suffered defeats.

With 6 team points, the Armenian team is currently tied for 13th–51st place.

The Olympiad consists of 11 rounds.
