Chess Olympiad: Opponents of the Armenian teams at the start

The World Chess Olympiad will kick off in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on September 16. The draw for the first round has taken place.

The Armenian national team will face the team from Barbados.

The opponent of the Armenian women's national team will be the team from Hong Kong (China).

The Olympiad will consist of 11 rounds.

The Armenian national team will consist of Hayk Martirosyan, Robert Hovhannisyan, Shant Sargsyan, Gabriel Sargsyan, and Manuel Petrosyan. The team's coach is Arman Pashikyan.

The women's national team will consist of Elina Danielian, Mariam Mkrtchyan, Lilit Mkrtchyan, Susanna Gaboyan, and Anahit Mkrtchyan. The team's coach is Zaven Andriasyan.

In the starting rankings, the Armenian men's team holds 10th place out of 208 countries, while the women's team ranks 16th out of 191 countries.

The first round will begin at 14:00 Armenia time.
