Arman Tsarukyan: I don't want to take revenge with Makhachev yet

09:06   2 September, 2026

Arman Tsarukyan (Armenia), the No. 2-ranked title contender in the lightweight division of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) hopes to win the title in his weight class and defend the belt five times.

"For now, I don't want a rematch with Makhachev. That will happen after I defend the lightweight belt at least five times, so I can surpass his record. Makhachev has defended it four times. I want to do it five times; then I’ll either retire or move up to the welterweight division," Tsarukyan said on the UFC's Deep Water podcast.

On September 19, Arman Tsarukyan will face Brazilian fighter Mauricio Ruffy at the UFC 331 event in Los Angeles.

Arman Tsarukyan holds a record of 23 wins and 3 losses in MMA.
