Mikel Arteta matched Mark Hughes's achievement in the Premier League

The Spanish manager of Arsenal Mikel Arteta reached the milestone of 250 Premier League matches in charge. Arsenal defeated Aston Villa 1–0.

Arteta also played 284 matches in the Premier League as a player.

He is the second person after Welshman Mark Hughes to have participated in at least 250 Premier League matches in both a playing and managerial capacity.

Mark Hughes played in 297 Premier League matches and managed in 466 games.
