Chelsea will attempt to sign Emiliano Martinez
17:04 27 August, 2026Chelsea will attempt to sign Aston Villa and Argentina national team goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez before the summer transfer window closes, reports insider Fabrizio Romano.
Aston Villa intends to hand the starting goalkeeper role to new signing Zion Suzuki; consequently, Emiliano Martinez is open to a move.
Martinez has been with Aston Villa since September 2020, and his contract runs until June 2029.
Transfermarkt values him at €12 million.
Last season, Martinez made 44 appearances for Aston Villa, conceding 49 goals and keeping 14 clean sheets.
