Artur Avetisyan – European Champion
22:39 21 August, 2026At the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships taking place in Zagreb, Croatia, Artur Avetisyan was unrivaled in the rings event, becoming European champion for the first time in his career.
In the final, Artur Avetisyan scored 14.400 points. The Armenian gymnast was the first to compete and posted a score of 14.400.
This marks the first time Artur Avetisyan has won a gold medal at the senior European Championships.
Vahagn Davtyan, Armenia's second representative in this event, scored 14.000 points and finished in fifth place.
In the qualification round, Artur Avetisyan scored 14.33 points, and Vahagn Davtyan scored 14.116 points.
Artur Avetisyan was awarded the gold medal, and the Armenian national anthem was played in his honor in the Zagreb sports arena.
