2026 World Cup: Argentina beat England to reach final

The world champion Argentina team reached the World Cup final.

In the semifinal match, Lionel Scaloni's team secured a comeback 2–1 victory over England.

The opening goal was scored by Anthony Gordon, a new signing for the Spanish champions, Barcelona (video).

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández scored the equalizer in the 85th minute (video).

Lautaro Martínez, a forward for the Italian champions Inter Milan, scored Argentina's winning goal in stoppage time (video).

In the final, Argentina will face Spain, who defeated France (2–0).
