12:07 14 July, 2026More than 5 million football fans are demanding Argentina be kicked out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is wrapping up in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
The fans have signed a petition accusing FIFA of being biased towards the reigning World Cup champions, Argentina, and in particular, their captain Lionel Messi.
“Why should the rest of the world compete [in the 2026 World Cup] when the winner has already been decided? Kick Argentina out of the World Cup and give everyone else a fair chance,” the petition states.
Argentina will face England in the semifinals of the 2026 World Cup.
The match will be played Wednesday and will kick off at 23:00 Armenia time.
