Team Armenia results at European Youth Rapid Chess Championship

The 2026 European Youth Rapid Chess Championship has concluded in Rzeszow, Poland.

Four representatives of Armenia finished among the top ten, the press service of the Armenian Chess Federation reports.


Sofia Baghramyan scored 7.5 points out of 9 and became the runner-up in the G10 category.


FM Vache Hovakimyan scored 7 points and shared 1st-4th place in the U18 category. Vache took 4th place on tie-breaks.


FM Manvel Arakelyan scored 7 points and shared 2nd-5th place in the U16 category. Manvel took 4th place on tie-breaks.


Manvel Vardanyan scored 7 points and shared 2nd-7th place in the U10 category. Manvel took 4th place on tie-breaks.


Results of all Armenian chess players are as follows:

FM Vache Hovakimyan — 7 points (U18)
FM Manvel Arakelyan — 7 points (U16)
Manvel Vardanyan — 7 points (U10)
Aleksandr Hakobyan — 6.5 points (U12)

On Thursday at noon Armenian time, the Blitz Chess Championship will start and will be played over 18 rounds.
