2026 World Cup: England beat Mexico, Bellingham scores brace in 2 minutes

England have reached the quarterfinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

They defeated the co-host nation, Mexico, 3-2 in their Round of 16 clash in Mexico City.

England and Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham scored in the 36th and 38th minutes.

Mexico and Al-Qadsiah striker Julian Quinones reduced the goal deficit in the 42nd minute.

England were down to ten men in the 54th minute, as Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah was sent off for rough play.

England and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane converted a penalty in the 60th minute.

And in the 69th minute, Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez netted Mexico's second goal from the penalty spot.

In the quarterfinals, England will face Norway, who earlier beat Brazil 2-1 in the Round of 16.
