2026 World Cup: Norway knock out Brazil through Haaland brace

Brazil and Norway met in East Rutherford, USA, in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Norway winning 2-1 to advance to the quarterfinals.

Brazil and Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes missed a penalty in the 14th minute, as Norway and Sevilla goalkeeper Orjan Nyland made a save.

Norway and Manchester City forward Erling Haaland opened the scoring in the 79th minute, and he netted his second goal for Norway in the 90th minute.

Brazil and Santos forward Neymar scored from the penalty spot in the 10th minute of added time. 

In the quarterfinals, Norway will face the winners of the Mexico vs. England match in the Round of 16.
