2026 World Cup: France beat Sweden, reach Round of 16

2022 FIFA World Cup runners-up France played Sweden in East Rutherford, USA, and won 3-0 in the Round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup.

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe scored a brace, taking his tally of goals in World Cups to 18, one goal behind the record set by reigning World Cup champions Argentina forward Lionel Messi.

PSG forward Bradley Barcola also scored for France.

In the Round of 16, France will face Paraguay who eliminated Germany in the Round of 32.
