2026 World Cup: Mexico record 3rd win, South Africa beat South Korea

AEL striker Thapelo Maseko scored the only goal.
As a result, South Africa finished third in Group A, with 4 points, and advanced to the Round of 32. South Korea finished third, with 3 points, but still have a chance to make the playoffs.
Mexico topped Group A, with 9 points, defeating Czechia 3-0 in the final round of the group stage.
AZ Alkmaar midfielder Mateo Chavez, Al-Qadsiah striker Julian Quinones, and Real Betis midfielder Alvaro Fidalgo netted Mexico's goals.
Czechia finished bottom of Group A, with 1 point, and are out of the 2026 World Cup.
South Africa, on the other hand, will play in the World Cup playoffs for the first time in their history.
