Alcaraz, Sabalenka become Laureus World Sports Awards laureates

Carlos Alcaraz was named the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year 2026.

At the respective awards ceremony in Madrid, the world No. 2 Spanish tennis star was presented with the award by former Real Madrid players Iker Casillas and Luis Figo.

And world No. 1 in women’s tennis Aryna Sabalenka, representing Belarus, was named the Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year 2026.

Nearly 1,000 sports media members from more than 70 countries take part in the voting for the Laureus World Sports Awards.
