Olympic champion Lindsey Vonn discharged from hospital
11:43 16 February, 2026Lindsey Vonn has been discharged from hospital in Italy after undergoing her fourth surgery, ESPN reports.
Just seconds after the start of her women’s downhill race at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, American alpine skier and 2010 Olympic champion Vonn, 41, had fallen and broken her knee and shin. She was airlifted to hospital.
Lindsey Vonn had announced her retirement from professional skiing in 2019 after suffering a serious injury. But in 2024, she underwent successful knee replacement surgery and returned to professional sports.
