Australian Open: Karen Khachanov in 3rd round

World No. 18 Karen Khachanov (Russia) advanced to the third round of the Australian Open in Melbourne.

The Muscovite Armenian tennis player faced world No. 242 Nishesh Basavareddy (USA) in the second round of this tournament and won 6:1, 6:4, 6:3. The match lasted 1 hour and 57 minutes.

Khachanov's opponent in the third round will be world No. 25 Luciano Darderi (Italy), who defeated world No. 36 Sebastian Baez (Argentina) 6:3, 1:6, 6:4, 6:3 in the second round.

The Australian Open prize fund is $74.9 million.
