Karen Khachanov: Losing in the final is painful
13:02 8 August, 2025World No.16 Karen Khachanov (Russia) commented on his loss to world No.7 Ben Shelton (USA) in final in the men’s singles competition at the National Bank Open Presented by Rogers tournament in Toronto, Canada.
Losing in the final is painful, Khachanov said.
According to the Muscovite Armenian tennis player, in the third set of the previous match, he had won 7:6, but this time he lost by the same score.
Khachanov said he is grateful to his team for the excellent result, he has a great team, the other members of which are at home and watching his matches.
Khachanov said is especially grateful to his wife and two sons. They could not come with him to Canada, but they win and lose together.
Everything will be fine, Khachanov added, the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) website informs.
Karen Khachanov will rise to No.12 in the next weekly world rankings of the ATP.
