Champions League: Noah fail to overcome Ferencvaros ‘barrier’

Reigning Armenian Premier League Football champions and cup winners Noah failed to overcome Ferencvaros’ (Hungary) “barrier” in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.

Noah lost 3-4 in the second leg in Budapest. Ferencvaros’ Serbian striker Aleksandar Pesic opened the scoring in the first minute.

Noah’s Portuguese striker Helder Ferreira restored parity in the 7th minute. French striker Lenny Joseph put the hosts ahead again in the 12th minute. Noah’s Brazilian striker Matheus Aias scored the equalizer in the 22nd minute. Ferencvaros’ Norwegian midfielder Kristoffer Zachariassen converted a penalty in the 52nd minute.

Croatian defender Alen Grgic scored for Noah in the 71st minute. And Hungarian striker Barnabas Varga netted Ferencvaros' winning goal in the 74th minute. Noah had lost 1-2 in the first leg.

Now Noah will continue their campaign in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League and will face the Lincoln Red Imps (Gibraltar), who were eliminated by Serbian champions Crvena zvezda in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.
