Wimbledon: Medvedev’s sensational defeat at start of tournament

World No. 9 Daniil Medvedev suffered a sensational defeat at the start of Wimbledon. The Russian tennis player lost in the first round to Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi, the 64th racket of the world, with the score 6:7 (2:7), 6:3, 6:7 (3:6), 2:6. The match lasted 3 hours and 8 minutes.

Bonzi's opponent in the second round will be the winner of the pair Jordan Thompson (Australia) - Vit Kopriva (Czech Republic). 

The Wimbledon prize fund is £53.5 million.
