Lamine Yamal sets Champions League record

Lamine Yamal has set a new record in the UEFA Champions League.

The 17-year-old winger for last season’s Spanish La Liga runners-up Barcelona and reigning European champions Spain has become the first player under the age of 18 to make 20 appearances in the aforesaid major European cup football competition.

In the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals, Barca defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-0 at home, and, also, Yamal scored a goal.

This season, Yamal has made 43 appearances for the Catalan club in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing 20 assists.

His current contract with Barcelona runs until 2027.

Transfermarkt estimates Yamal’s transfer value at €180 million.
