Champions League: PSG knock Liverpool out of race
02:43 12 March, 2025Current English Premier League leaders Liverpool hosted reigning French Ligue 1 champions PSG and lost on penalties in the second leg of the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
PSG won 1-0 in regular time. French striker Ousmane Dembele scored in the 12th minute.
Liverpool had won the first leg 1-0, and therefore the second leg went into extra time, during which, however, no goals were scored.
But the PSG players took the penalty shootout more successfully and won 4-1.
PSG's opponents in the quarterfinals will be the winners of the clash between Belgium’s Club Brugge and England’s Aston Villa in the Round of 16.
