Copa del Rey: Barca, Atletico play 4-4 draw
02:29 26 February, 2025Barcelona hosted Atletico Madrid, and they played a 4-4 draw in the first leg of the Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup) semifinals.
In the first minute, the visitors' Argentine striker Julian Alvarez opened the scoring. In the 6th minute, Atletico's French striker Antoine Griezmann scored. In the 19th minute, Spanish midfielder Pedri reduced the goal deficit. In the 21st minute, Spanish defender Pau Cubarsi scored Barca's second goal. In the 41st minute, Spanish defender Inigo Martinez's goal put Barcelona ahead. In the 74th minute, Polish striker Robert Lewandowski increased Barca's lead. In the 84th minute, Spanish midfielder Marcos Llorente scored Atletico's third goal. And in the third minute of added time, Norwegian striker Alexander Sorloth equalized for the guests.
The second leg will be played in Madrid on April 2.
The other spot in the Copa del Rey final will be contested between Real Sociedad and Real Madrid. The first leg between these clubs will be played Wednesday.
