Champions League: Real, PSG advance to Round of 16
01:51 20 February, 2025Real Madrid have advanced to the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
The current Spanish La Liga champions and Champions League Cup winners defeated English Premier League titleholders Manchester City 3-1 in the second leg of the knockout phase playoffs. French striker Kylian Mbappe scored a hat trick.
In the first leg, Real had won 3-2 in England.
Real's opponents in the Round of 16 will be either Atletico Madrid or the current German Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen.
Also in the second leg of the knockout phase playoffs, French Ligue 1 titleholders PSG defeated Brest (France) 7-0. The Parisian club had netted 3 goals in the first leg.
In the Round of 16 of the Champions League, PSG will lock horns with either England’s Liverpool or Spain’s Barcelona.
The respective draws will be held on Friday.
