Champions League: Bayern and Benfica win, Milan lose
02:02 13 February, 2025The first legs of the UEFA Champions League knockout phase playoffs—for a spot in the Round of 16—concluded Wednesday.
Bayern Munich were hosted by Scotland’s Celtic and won 2-1. French midfielder Michael Olise and English striker Harry Kane scored for the German club.
Last season’s Italian Serie A runners-up Milan were hosted by Feyenoord of the Netherlands and lost 1-0. The only goal of this match was netted in the third minute by the home team’s Brazilian striker, Igor Paixao.
Monaco hosted Portugal’s Benfica and lost 0-1. Greek striker Vangelis Pavlidis scored in the 48th minute.
Earlier, Belgium’s Club Brugge had defeated Italy’s Atalanta 2-1.
