Australian Open: Men's singles semifinal pairings announced
15:25 22 January, 2025The semifinal pairings in the men's singles have been announced at the Australian Open tennis tournament in Melbourne.
Accordingly, the last spot to the semis was won by world No. 1 Jannik Sinner (Italy), who defeated world No. 8 Alex de Minaur (Australia) in three sets—6:3, 6:2, 6:1—in the quarterfinals.
Sinner will compete with world No. 20 Ben Shelton (USA) for a place in the final.
The other pairing in the semifinals is world No. 2 Alexander Zverev (Germany) and the 24-time Grand Slam champion, world No. 7 Novak Djokovic (Serbia).
The prize fund of the Australian Open is $59.7 million.
