Australian Open: Karen Khachanov beats Adrian Mannarino in 1st round

Karen Khachanov (Russia), who is world No. 19 in men’s tennis, won his first match at the Australian Open tournament that kicked off in Melbourne.

In the first round, the Muscovite Armenian faced world No. 75 Adrian Mannarino (France), and won in three sets—7:6 (7:5), 6:3, 6:3. The match lasted 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Khachanov's opponent in the second round will be world No. 86 Gabriel Diallo (Canada).

The prize fund of the Australian Open is $59.7 million.
