Europa League: Ajax, Panathinaikos set UEFA record for most number of penalties in shootout (VIDEO)

In the second leg of the third qualifying round of the Europa League, the Ajax (Netherlands) and the Panathinaikos (Greece) set a UEFA record for the most number of penalties taken in a shootout.

The two clubs together took 34 penalties (9 misses). And Ajax finally won, with a score of 13-12 (VIDEO).

The regular and extra time of this match had ended with the victory of Panathinaikos, 1-0.

Ajax, however, had won the first leg 1-0.

As a result, the winners of this pairing were determined on penalties.
