World bronze medalist and European champion Vazgen Tevanyan has been eliminated from further competitions.

World bronze medalist, Asian Games champion, two-time Asian vice-champion, representative of Mongolian Tömör-Ochiryn Tulga, who defeated Tevanyan in the quarterfinals of the Olympic freestyle wrestling tournament in the 65 kg category, lost in the semifinals. Vazgen Tevanyan was deprived of further competition for the bronze medal.

Armenia's freestyle wrestling team finished without a medal at the Olympic Games in Paris.
