Carlos Alcaraz, the third ranked player in the world, reached the quarterfinals of the Olympic tennis tournament.

The Spanish tennis player met with the 67th ranked Russian Roman Safiullin and won 6:4, 6:2. The match lasted 1 hour and 29 minutes.

In the quarterfinals, Carlos Alcaraz's opponent will be the 13th ranked player in the world, American Tommy Paul, who defeated the 69th ranked player in the world, French Corentin Moutet, 7:6 (8:6). 6:3.
