On July 29, at the judo tournament scheduled for the Paris Olympics, the champions in the men's weight category up to 73 kg and among women up to 57 kg became known.

In men's fight Azerbaijan's Hidayat Heydarov defeated French Yoan-Benjamin Gaba in the final.

Moldovan Adil Osmanov and Japanese Soichi Hashimoto won bronze medals.

In the women's 57 kg final, Canada's Christa Deguchi defeated South Korea's Mimi Ha.
