Paris 2023: Day’s first gold medal won by South Korea, ties for current leaders in medal count

South Korea has won Monday’s first gold medal at the Paris Olympic Games.

The Women's 10M Air Rifle shooting competition ended with the victory of Ban Hyojin, with 251.8 points.

In second place was Chinas Huang Yuting, who also scored 251.8 points.

But in the final shot, the South Korean scored 10.4 points, the Chinese—10.3 points.

And Switzerland's Audrey Gogniat finished third.

In the total medal count, South Korea equaled the current leaders, Japan and Australia, with 4 gold medals.
