Paris 2024: World No. 1 Iga Swiatek started with a victory
16:22 27 July, 2024Iga Swiatek, the world number one racket player, started the Olympic Games in Paris with a victory. The Polish tennis player defeated the 136th racket of the world, Romanian Irina Begu with the score 6:2, 7:5. The match lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes.
In the 1/16 finals, Iga Swiatek opponent will be the winner of the confrontation between the 52nd ranked French player Diane Parry and the 85th ranked Argentine Nadia Podoroska.
World No. 5 Jasmine Paolini of Italy also had a victorious start, defeating world No. 96 Ana Bogdan of Romania 7:5, 6:3.
