Serbia threatens to withdraw from Euro 2024
15:02 20 June, 2024The Serbian national team has threatened to withdraw from Euro 2024 if UEFA does not impose sanctions against the federations of Albania and Croatia for provocative chanting by the teams' fans during the match Croatia - Albania (2:2): "Kill the Serbs", reports sportklub.n1info.rs.
"This is a scandal. The Football Union of Serbia will demand UEFA to take the toughest sanctions, otherwise we will not continue to participate in the European Championship. This is a real scandal and we don't want it to happen again," said Jovan Šurbatoajic, secretary general of the Serbian Football Union.
In the first round of the group stage, the Serbian national team suffered a 0:1 defeat against England.
