World Chess Federation Candidates Tournament: 12th round played
09:42 19 April, 2024The games of the 12th round were played Thursday at the World Chess Federation (FIDE) Candidates Tournament 2024 being held in Toronto, Canada.
Hikaru Nakamura and Fabiano Caruana (USA) as well as Dommaraju Gukesh (India) won their matches.
Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia) drew with Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa (India).
Nakamura, Nepomniachtchi, and Gukesh currently share the first place, with 7.5 points each.
Fourteen rounds will be held in the Candidates Tournament, and its winner will vie for the world title against the reigning world champion, Ding Liren (China).
