The American Cup: Aronian wins grand final

Levon Aronian (USA), former leader of the Armenian national chess team, competed with Wesley So (USA) and won 2.5-1.5 in the grand final of The American Cup 2024, held in St. Louis, USA.

The Armenian grandmaster had beaten American Armenian Samuel Sevian (4-2) in the quarterfinals, defeated Fabiano Caruana (USA) 4-2 in the semifinals, and beaten Ray Robson (USA) 2-0 in the final

Aronian received $90,000 for this victory.
