Indian Wells Masters: Semifinal pairings decided

The participants of the semifinals in the Indian Wells Masters tennis tournament, being held in the US, are known.

In the men’s competition, world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) defeated world No. 6 Alexander Zverev (Germany) in the quarterfinals and will face world No. 3 Jannik Sinner (Italy) in the semifinals, who defeated world No. 32 Jiri Lehecka (Czech Republic) in the quarterfinals.

World No. 4 Daniil Medvedev (Russia) defeated world No. 7 Holger Rune (Denmark) and will compete with world No. 17, Tommy Paul (USA)—who beat world No. 9 Casper Ruud (Norway)—for a spot to the final.

In the women's tournament, the semifinal pairs are world No. 1 Iga Swiatek (Poland) vs. world No. 31 Marta Kostyuk (Ukraine), and world No. 3 Coco Gauff (USA) vs. world No. 9 Maria Sakkari (Greece).

The prize fund of the Indian Wells Masters is $8.9 million.
