Champions League: Player of the Week nominees announced

UEFA has announced its four nominees for the Player of the Week award after the Bayern Munich vs. Lazio (3-0), Real Sociedad vs. PSG (1-2), Manchester City vs. Copenhagen (3-1), and Real Madrid vs. RB Leipzig (1-1) matches in the second leg of the Round of 16 of the Champions League.

The nominees are Kylian Mbappe, the French striker of French Ligue 1 champions PSG; Harry Kane, the English forward of German Bundesliga titleholders Bayern Munich; Manuel Akanji, the Swiss defender of English Premier League champions Manchester City; and Willi Orban, the Hungarian defender of Germany’s RB Leipzig.

Mbappe scored a brace against Real Sociedad, Kane scored twice against Lazio, RB Leipzig avoided defeat in Madrid thanks to Orban's goal, and Akanji scored once against Copenhagen.

The winner of the Champions League Player of the Week award will be decided as a result of the respective voting being held on the UEFA website.
