European Weightlifting Championships: Varazdat Lalayan - small gold medalist after snatch exercise, Lasha Talakhadze refused to fight

At the European Weightlifting Championships among men in the group of over 109 kg in Sofia, Bulgaria, two participants from Armenia have started a duel.

World and European vice-champion Varazdat Lalayan and two-time Olympic vice-champion, two-time world and European champion Simon Martirosyan are fighting for the title.

Varazdat Lalayan is the leader in snatch.

He won the small gold medal with the result of 205 kg. Simon Martirosyan is third in the 190 kg weight category.

There are 11 weightlifters registered in this weight category. Two-time Olympic champion, 7-time world champion and 7-time European champion Georgian Lasha Talakhadze refused to fight.
