Arsen Harutyunyan defeats Azerbaijani 10-0, advances to compete for fourth title (photo, video)

Arsen Harutyunyan reached the finals of the European freestyle wrestling championship held in Bucharest, Romania, after a confident victory over his Azerbaijani opponent, positioning himself to vie for the championship for the fourth time.

A three-time world bronze medalist and three-time European champion, Arsen Harutyunyan faced Azerbaijan's Islam Bazarganov in the semi-finals of the 57 kg category, triumphing with a score of 10-0. The wrestling match lasted 1 minute and 25 seconds.

On February 17, Arsen Harutyunyan will contend for his fourth European championship title against Turkey's Muhammed Karavus.

Under the leadership of Habetnak Kurghinyan, Arman Andreasyan, the bronze medalist of the World Championship and the European vice-champion, also advanced to the semi-finals of the European Championship. In the semi-finals, Arman Andreasyan will compete with Ismail Musukayev, the world and European champion from Hungary.

Vazgen Tevanyan, Arman Avagyan, and Sergey Sargsyan, who entered the competition on the first day, suffered defeats.

Tevanyan narrowly lost 4-5 to Hajimurad Rashidov, a Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist, world champion, and two-time European champion from Russia, in the quarter-finals under conditions of contested refereeing.
