Atletico Madrid have reached the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup).

Atletico played host to Real Madrid in the Round of 16 of this football competition and won 4-2 in extra time.

The regular time of this match had ended in a 2-2 tie.

Real have lost the chance to defend their Copa del Rey title.
