La Liga: Benzema goal saves Real from defeat, Atletico miss out on win

Real Madrid competed at home against Athletic Bilbao and played a 1-1 draw in the last round of the Spanish la Liga.

Real avoided defeat thanks to the goal of their French star striker Karim Benzema, who played his last match for the club.

Real Madrid finished second, with 78 points, in the final La Liga standings, and 1 point ahead of third place Atletico Madrid, who were hosted by Villarreal and missed the win in the last minutes and had to settle for a 2-2 draw.
