Mkhitaryan becomes 3rd footballer from CIS countries to score goal in Champions League semifinals

Former Armenian international, Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan became the third player from the CIS countries to score a goal in the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League, reports Opta.

Before him, Dynamo Kyiv Ukrainian footballers Vitaliy Kosovskyi and Andriy Shevchenko had achieved such success in 1999. In 2003 and 2005, Shevchenko scored goals for Milan also in the semifinals of the Champions League.
Russian Dmitriy Alenichev had netted a goal for Porto in the Champions League final in 2004.

Also, Mkhitaryan is the first Armenian footballer to score a goal in the semifinals of the Champions League.

Inter are hosted by Milan and are winning 2-0 in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals. The second half is underway.
