World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz could not reach the final of the Miami Open.

In the semifinals, the Spanish tennis star lost to world No. 11 Jannik Sinner (Italy) in three sets—7:6 (7:4), 4:6, 2:6. The match lasted 3 hours and 1 minute.

Due to this defeat, Alcaraz will lose his world No. 1 ranking as well, and the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Men's ranking will again be headed by Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic.

In the final, Sinner's opponent will be world No. 5 Daniil Medvedev (Russia), who had beaten fellow countryman, Muscovite Armenian Karen Khachanov in their semifinal clash.
