Mbappe elected new captain of France national team

The coaching staff of the French national football squad, headed by manager Didier Deschamps, has chosen Kylian Mbappe, 24, the star forward of the reigning French Ligue 1 champions, PSG, as the new captain of the French national team, reports L'Equipe.

The previous captain of the French national team was goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who has retired from international duty after the 2022 World Cup.

Mbappe has scored 36 goals in 66 appearances so far for France.

Also, he became the 2018 World Cup champion and the 2022 World Cup silver medalist with his national squad.
