Australian Open: Karen Khachanov is in semifinals

Karen Khachanov (Russia) has reached the semifinals of the Australian Open for the first time in his professional tennis career.

In the quarterfinals, the Muscovite Armenian's opponent was Sebastian Korda (USA), who was forced to retire from the match in the third set due to a wrist injury. 

Khachanov was ahead 3:0 in the third set.

He had won the first two sets, too: 7:6 (7:5), 6:3.

The opponent of the world No. 20-ranked tennis player in the semifinals will be the winner of the quarterfinal clash between Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece) and Jiri Lehecka (Czech Republic).

The prize fund of the Australian Open is $51.3 million.
