Tata Steel Masters: Aronian plays draw with current leader Abdusattorov

Levon Aronian (USA) played a draw with current sole leader Nodirbek Abdusattorov (Uzbekistan) in the eighth round of the Tata Steel Masters chess tournament being held in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands.

As a result, Aronian—the former leader of the Armenian men’s national chess team who now represents the USA shares fourth to seventh places with World No. 1 and reigning World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen (Norway), Fabiano

Caruana (USA), and Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa (India), with 4.5 points apiece.

Abdusattorov leads the current standings, with 6 points. The second and third places are shared by Anish Giri (Netherlands) and Wesley So (USA), respectively, who have 5 points each.

Thirteen rounds will be held at Tata Steel Masters.
